The new year brings new terms for Arkansas officials.
Prosecuting Attorney Nathan Smith and his deputies were sworn in for Benton County.
Smith begins his second term as prosecuting attorney.
He says he wants to continue the momentum his team already has, saying they’ve filed more criminal cases in Benton County than ever before.
“That’s the goal going forward: to make sure we as a community keep this a safe place, a thriving part of the state to live in,” Smith said.
Every elected official, who begins a new term this year, will be sworn in by a judicial officer in the state of Arkansas.
