BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — The City of Bentonville is improving the beauty and safety of some of its bike trails all in one project.
Crews repainted some of the tunnels on the bike trails to make them easier for bikers to see where they’re riding at night.
Parks foreman Chris Kester said the paint paired with lights installed in the tunnels last year will allow them to be used more.
“I think they’ll all be thrilled that it’ll light it up and be able to use them more frequently at night,” Kester said.
“We’re just trying to make them a little bit safer, a little bit brighter, so people can see through them at night.”
On top of the new paint job, crews will put a clear coat of special paint to deter graffiti artists.
The coat will make it easier to clean graffiti off the newly painted walls.
