Thousands made their way to the Sam’s Club headquarters in Bentonville Saturday for the Kansas City Barbeque Society ‘Sam’s Club National Tour.’
The Kansas City Barbeque Society and Sam’s Club created the tour to search for Barbeque’s National Champion.
The tour started in February with 800 teams and is now down to 50 at the final stop in Bentonville- where all of the regional winners come together to compete for a chance to win $50,000.
“They’ve been through the massive, the biggest price-per based tournament throughout the country,” National Marketing Director Mike McCloud said. “They’ve been to 25 local competitions, they’ve been to five regionals, they’ve earned their way to this national championship at the Sam’s Club headquarters today.”
The public was invited to try out some of today’s barbeque.
The title of national champion went to Outlaw Hogs from Saint Louis, Mo.
