BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — A Bentonville man is accused of sexually assaulting a young child in Centerton.
Nathen Scott Wise, 24, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of second-degree sexual assault. A young girl told authorities last August that Wise sexually assaulted her, according to a probable cause request for an arrest warrant.
A Bentonville Police Department detective received a report from the Child Abuse Hotline on August 16 about a girl claiming to have been sexually assaulted, according to the the document.
The child told the Benton County Children’s Advocacy Center that Wise sexually assaulted her. She described how the assault occurred and said that she told Wise “no” as he was assaulting her, the document states.
The child said Wise assaulted her twice, and in one of the incidents gave her money to persuade her to move her clothing and expose herself to him. She said he told her she could have five coins if she did five things. She said as she did so, he assaulted her, according to the document.
Wise was booked into the Benton County Detention Center. No bond has been set.
