The Bentonville Police Department paired with a local Red Robin restaurant for the 12th Annual Tip-A-Cop Night.
Every year, police across the country act as servers to raise money for local Special Olympics programs.
BPD has been a part of this for over a decade.
One officer says he helps these athletes however he can — and loves doing it.
“I started in ’94, you know, with the torch run in May, and we started jumping in the water in ’99, and we’ve been doing this for about 10 or 15 years. If I can use my role as an officer to raise money for Special Olympics, then I’ll do that everyday,” Det. Mark Jordan of the Bentonville Police Department said.
Detective Jordan says people pack the restaurants every year to do their part to help Special Olympic athletes.
