Bentonville public pool to open for summer season


The Melvin Ford Aquatic Center will open for summer on Saturday, May 25, Bentonville Parks and Recreation announced today. 

The 50-meter outdoor pool ranges from 3 to 8 feet deep and features a one-foot wading pool for young children. For more experienced swimmers, the Aquatic Center has a diving well 13 feet in depth, equipped with two diving boards. 

Programs and events taking place at the Melvin Ford Aquatic Center this summer include swimming lessons, a recreational youth swim team, junior lifeguard camp, adult masters swim, and more. 

The facility will host a weekly “Mondays at Melvin,” featuring water volleyball, games, and free treats every Monday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., beginning June 3 through August 5. 

Open swim hours are Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The pool is available for private party rentals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

Daily admission to the Aquatic Center is $3 for adults and $2 for visitors under the age of 18.

Admission is free to members of the Bentonville Community Center. 

The Melvin Ford Aquatic Center is located at 2000 NE Memorial Park Square in Bentonville.
