BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — A Bentonville eighth grader won a nationwide competition that encourages students to pursue an interest in stem studies.
Ahilan Eraniyan, a Haas Hall Academy student, developed an app aimed at helping farmers identify and deal with harmful insects.
Erniyan was presented with a Congressional certificate from Congressman Steve Womack Monday at the school.
“He’s certainly one of our finest. He, like most of our scholars enjoys being here everyday. He’s engaged, he comes ready to work and we couldn’t be more pleased to have him to be as part of our school,” said Rod Wittenberg, Haas Hall Academy headmaster.
An event was held for Eraniyan, and the entire eighth grade class was in attendance while Womack addressed the students to talk about the importance of education.
