Bentonville Takes On Graffiti in Razorback Greenway Tunnels

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — The City of Bentonville has taken steps to prevent graffiti from filling up open tunnel space.

City Council members on Tuesday approved a nearly $44,000 project to paint and seal two tunnels on the Razorback Greenway.

The Bentonville Parks and Recreation Department plans to use white paint and anti-graffiti sealant to protect the interior of the tunnels from unwanted street art.

The white paint on the tunnels will also serve another purpose.

“It will allow the light to sound and reflect and will make these tunnels a lot brighter then what they are so people will feel a lot safer then what they do inside here,” said David Wright, director for Parks and Recreation

The project is part of the Razorback Greenway improvement grant project which is funded by the Walton Family Foundation.
