WASHINGTON, D.C., – On Thursday, Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, introduced new legislation to fund President Donald Trump’s border wall.
The bill would allocate billions of dollars strictly for border security.
Cornyn said the plan will secure the southern border.
“Border security is not a one size fits all proposition,” Cornyn said.
Cornyn said the bill, dubbed “Building America’s Trust Act,” would earmark $15 billion over the next four years strictly for border security.
“Infrastructure wall systems are an important piece of the story, but they are not the whole story,” Cornyn said.
Some of that money will go toward a physical wall and additional resources along the border, but Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyoming, said the rest will focus on reinforcing existing immigration laws.
