WASHINGTON (KNWA) — Senator John Boozman advocated for improvement to veterans’ healthcare during a Washington D.C. hearing Thursday.
Boozman’s main point during senate committee’s hearing on veteran’s affairs was a bill that he authored that allows any child of a veteran who served in Vietnam who has spina bifida to have the same health care as their parent.
The meeting allowed Boozman to applaud the progress of legislation of expanded benefits for Blue Water Navy veterans.
“In regard to Blue Water, we really are pleased that this is moving forward,” Boozman said. “I want to commend Commmander Wells for his work to seeing the bill through the lengthy and rewarding process.”
Boozman went on to advocate to improve hiring practices for the VA so they can compete for the best doctors just like the private sector.
