BRANSON, Mo. (KOLR) — One of Branson’s oldest properties has been proposed to be the home of a new attraction.
On Thursday it was announced that the Grand Palace has been proposed to be the new home of an aquarium.
According to a press release from Kuvera Partners, they have been studying the best use for the highly-visible property at the center of the Branson strip.
The company also owns the Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center in Branson.
“Redeveloping the Grand Palace site with an Aquarium is – without a doubt – the most impactful way to reactivate this key section of the Highway 76 Strip,” says Partner Tej Sundher. “We’ve gained excellent insight through eight rounds of consumer testing with H2R Market Research over the last three years and all of the data pointed us here.”
The 46,000 square-foot facility will be called Aquarium at the Boardwalk.
“Right at the start, we’re creating the atmosphere of a classic boardwalk and then taking you under the sea to explore, play and capture great photos, along with enjoying spectacular views of a wide variety of sea animals,” said the company in a press release.
Branson Chamber of Commerce & CVB CEO Jeff Seifried also says that an aquarium is a good choice for Branson. “Our research tells us that an aquarium is the top choice to attract new visitors,” he says. “We believe that Kuvera’s team of experts and experience in this community will make this a successful project that is good for Branson. It is gratifying to see that this longstanding Branson business believes in the future of Branson and wants to continue investing in a big way,” says Seifried.
