Brian Rabal not giving up Centerton city attorney position

Brian Rabal will remain as Centerton’s city attorney.

This comes after a lot of controversy.

Earlier this month, Mayor Bill Edwards said Rabal verbally confirmed he would resign.

Rabal had not confirm whether he would leave or stay until Tuesday night.

All of this came as multiple discrimination complaints were filed against interim police chief Lt. Anthony Keck, and then amid the city reinstating Police Chief Cody Harper.

Harper was placed on paid administrative leave for a year while Arkansas State Police conducted an internal investigation.

He led Tuesday’s City Council meeting and is now investigating discrimination complaints against Keck.

Harper said he wants to make sure it’s a thorough investigation.

“Right now a majority of my time these last two weeks has been dealing with, addressing and going through the complaints that have been filed,” Harper said. “That is a significant concern and we want to get through those as quickly as possible, but also do the most thorough investigation into those that we can.”

Harper said he’s spoken with the officers who filed the complaints, but at this time he can’t comment on any updates into the investigation.
