FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — Levon Helm’s bust was unveiled today at the Pryor Center as a part of a celebration of the musician’s life.
The bust will end up at Helm’s childhood home, which was just moved from Turkey Scratch to Marvell.
Officials said the home will be completely remodeled within the next six months.
“So we are honored to be here at the Pryor Center, Scott Lunford was at our Blues Festival down in Helena and took some video and asked us to come up and we will do the unveiling here so we are very happy to be here,” said Joe Griffith, chairman of Levon Helm Memorial.
The bust will be unveiled again in Marvell inside Helm’s childhood home on Oct. 20.
