Update:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Razorbacks’ biggest fan, Canaan Sandy, suffered another stroke Wednesday, his second in less than a week.

KARK’s Aaron Nolan spoke with his mother Ginger this morning who said doctors at the Arkansas Heart Hospital have found the cause of the issue, a hole in his heart that is throwing blood clots.

She said an MRI showed the stroke happened in the vision area of the brain but his vision isn’t affected, but he has lost some speech.

They are glad to have answers. Canaan will have surgery with a catheter procedure to close the hole Thursday morning.

Until then here’s a Woo Pig Sooie for Canaan!

Original story:

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Razorback super fan Canaan Sandy is recovering after having a stroke.

“He is doing remarkably well considering,” says Ginger Sandy, mother of Cannan. “He should be paralyzed on one side but he isn’t he’s bouncing off the walls.”

Sandy says the CT scan showed no blood in his brain, but he will be staying overnight for monitoring.

The family is being cared for at The White River Medical Center, where they will soon meet with a neurologist to find out what the next steps are for Cannan.

“We know he wouldn’t be in the shape he’s in if it wasn’t for everybody’s prayers,” Sandy says. “We thank the lord first and we thank you guys second.”

Everyone across the state of Arkansas and beyond has been sending messages of prayers and well wishes for the Razorbacks biggest fan.

“We love you guys, thank you,” says Sandy and Cannon.
