Hope for the Warriors, a national military nonprofit, received hope in the form of hundreds of thousands of dollars from Casey’s General Stores.
Friday morning, January 11, the president and chief officer of Casey’s were in Siloam Springs, 2655 US-412, to present an $840,000 check to representatives from ‘Hope for the Warriors.’
Of the donation amount, the Siloam Springs store raised $7,000.
Casey employee Robert Brown said , “I donated at least $1 for every day I worked,” he said, “and personally I got over $2,000 in donations.”
The “Dog Tag” promotion is where Casey’s customers may purchase a dog tag for $1 to help support the military and their needs. All proceeds go to the nonprofit.
Hope for the Warriors was founded in 2006. Its mission is, “dedicated to the care of service members and military families struggling from the physical, moral, and psychological effects of war,” according to their website.
