CDC Urges People to Avoid Romaine Lettuce Because of E. Coli

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is urging you not to eat any type romaine lettuce.

That is until more is learned about a new outbreak of illnesses caused by a particularly dangerous type of E. coli bacteria.

CDC officials said you should throw it all away and clean where it was stored.

Thirty-two people in 11 states have become ill, including 13 who have had to be hospitalized.

No deaths have been reported.
