Cedar Lake Swim Area Closed Because of Blue-Green Algae

LEFLORE COUNTY, Okla. (KFTA) — The U.S. Forest Service has closed swim beaches and the boat ramp at Cedar Lake because of blue-green algae.

Officials said that overnight camping sites will remain open.

As long as you avoid the affected water then the blue-green algae does not pose a health risk to you, according to District Ranger Michelle Caviness

The closures will last until the algae has dissipated.
