No charges were filed against the Rogers teacher and her husband who were arrested in connection to a sex abuse case in 2017, according to Benton County Prosecutor Nathan Smith.

The parents of the victim did not want their child to testify or talk about it at all, and without the victim’s testimony, the law does not allow the prosecution to proceed, according to Smith.

Tamy Pershing was a sixth-grade language arts teacher at Arkansas Arts Academy.

Douglas Pershing faced a charge of second-degree sexual assault, and his wife faced a charge of failure to notify by a mandated reporter and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Police were notified on August 10 about this sexual abuse investigation out of Henderson, Nev., which involved two young girls.
