Check Your Flight! XNA Seeing Cancelations Amid Snow

News

A few flights in and out of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport have been affected by the winter weather in our area and across the country.

According to XNA’s website, two departing flights, to Chicago and Charlotte, were canceled Saturday morning. Another two inbound flights from Chicago was also canceled.

XNA’s CEO Kelly Johnson says crews have put some chemicals down on the runways to keep them from feezing. Johnson also says the roads out to XNA have patchy slush and snow, so travelers should be careful if they’re driving to Highfill.

Both of Chicago’s airports, Midway and O’Hare, are experiencing significant issues. According to the Chicago Department of Aviation, at last count, O’Hare (ORD) has canceled at least 478 flights for Saturday, January 19. Midway (MDW) has canceled at least 70.

If you plan to fly out of XNA this weekend, check with your airline early and often to ensure your flight is on time.
