Child Trauma Victims to Benefit From Major Grant

A multi-million dollar grant will be used to help young children in Arkansas who endure trauma.

The Arkansas Department of Human Services was awarded $3.5 million.

It will be used to train staff, parents and others who work in early childhood settings.

In response to the funding, Tonya Williams, director of the Division of Childcare and Early Childhood Education, said in part, “The more we can do to help these children early in life, the more likely they will have improved outcomes in school and life.”
