Some less fortunate families in Northwest Arkansas were able to add some joy to the Christmas season thanks to the Second Annual Polar Express Event.
Volunteers reenacted the polar express story to the children.
Santa also made an appearance and brought gifts.
Each child received a few presents as well as food to take home for their families.
“Everything that we put together is by donation only. We started out with zero, and it’s amazing how everyone just pulls together and makes it work,” Debbie Abbott, co-founder of Mary’s Christmas Kids said.
Abbott hopes to make this an annual event so they can help families in Northwest Arkansas remember the true meaning of Christmas.
