Cities Look to Improve Parks

Both Fayetteville and Springdale hope to improve their parks.

The city of Fayetteville is holding several public input sessions to gather ideas and answer questions. The first one is Saturday, April 1 ARVEST Bank’s Outdoor Plaza. The bank is located on East street. Another session will happen at the Fayetteville Public Library on April 3. On April 10, residents can drop in to a session at Kessler Mountain Regional Park’s concession stand. All sessions are from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Ideas will be put together and submitted to the city council later this year.

The city of Springdale is asking for nominations to win a grant through the Meet Me At The Park campaign. Springdale residents can nominate the city for the $20,000 grant any time in April. To nominate the city, take a selfie in your favorite park and use #meetmeatthepark, #parkies, and #beinspired. The city says parks are essential to its health and well-being, and it would use the grant to make improvements if chosen.
