Trail users will need to find an alternate route at Lake Fayetteville while the city removes tress from the dam.

The city says the sycamore trees pose a threat to the dam’s integrity and they must be removed. It can also pose a risk to people, property, homes, and businesses downstream of the dam.

Crews will be working through the end of Friday. The project will continue later in the summer when the roots are taken out.

The city says to be careful in the work areas.
