FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — The Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board is taking it’s partnership with the University of Arkansas to a higher level.

The board, State Department and the University of Arkansas signed an agreement Wednesday to help better promote the legacy of the Fulbright Scholarship.

Senator J. William Fulbright established the scholarship fund in 1946.

There are now 400,000 scholarship scholars around the world.

“That’s not only going to help raise the profile of Arkansas but help Arkansas businesses and citizens around the world,” said Todd Shields, dean of Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.

The partnership will help connect Fulbright alumni around the globe, as well as expand the programs oral and visual histories and sustain its legacy.
