SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA) — The Community Centers of Arkansas came together Tuesday with other groups to teach people how to reach out and care for different communities in Arkansas.
Attendees learned the best practices to develop culturally appropriate care for the vulnerable and underserved populations.
Some of the topics included in the summit were health of faith based communities and the Marshallese.
“For me it’s a very different mix of people, I usually speak to students who are people that are apart of the communities but not necessarily professionals that are physicians or people that work in clinics,” said Director Bassam Tariq.
The summit will also be taking place in Monticello on Thursday and West Memphis on Friday.
