FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — The First Annual Slow Roll Glow Bike Ride in Fayetteville was held Thursday.
The event took place at First Thursday on the Fayetteville Square.
As soon as the sun went down the group bike began.
Slow Roll means the ride isn’t necessarily a race, but to relax and just enjoy some good company.
The City of Fayetteville provided bikes for those who showed up without one.
“We have that new bike sharing system so people that didn’t even own bikes were able to check out a VeoRide bike to do the ride. So people that don’t normally ride a bike can come out and enjoy the ride since we have this bike share system,” said Dane Eifling, Bicycles and Pedestrian Programs coordinator for the City of Fayetteville
The city also handed out free helmets and lights to ensure safety for cyclists.
