Companies Go Head to Head to Collect Food for NWA Residents in Need


ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA) — More than two dozen companies went head to head to fill a vital need in Northwest Arkansas. 

The third annual Spectrum Brands Food Drive Challenge pitted 28 companies against one another to collect food for those in need.

All the hard work was celebrated Tuesday with an awards presentation at Mirebella’s Table in Rogers.

Together, the companies raised more than 282,000 pounds, surpassing its goal of 250,000 pounds.

The amount of food equals to 900,000 meals in just 16 days.

“The first year we came out and we had nine companies and we raised 17,000 pounds of food.,” said Kenneth Medlin with Spectrum Markets. “This year we raised 282-thousand pounds of food.”

All the food collected will allow the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank to further help the more than 63,000 people who are food insecure in Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington counties.
