Congressmen Help Dedicate New River Valley EMS Station

News

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA) — Some improvements to emergency services in the River Valley were revealed Monday.

Fort Smith EMS dedicated its new EMS station with the help of Congressman Steve Womack and Representative Bruce Westerman.

The building on Duke Avenue is also part of a partnership with Arkansas Tech University at Ozark for a paramedic program.

By bringing the education program back and investing in new buildings, Tim Hearn executive director for Fort Smith EMS said this will help the community they serve.

“It means growth of the service, provide more paramedics and provide better quicker services to them,” Hearn said. “This will go far in providing better services for our citizens”

Hearn went on to say they will be adding eight more paramedics on staff as well.
