Improvements to the Northwest Arkansas transit system are on track. This time companies are listening to riders on what they want to see.
Connect Northwest Arkansas is a 10-year project that will soon improve and expand transit in the area.
Alliance Transit is partnering with Ozark Regional Transit and Razorback Transit to make a plan that benefits all travelers.
Whether you ride the bus, bike, walk or drive, reccomendations are being heard to accomodate everyone in the region.
Students and staff were invited to voice their opinions and suggestions Thursday afternoon by taking a survey that will be used to make the final plan.
This is just the first step in the multi-process plan. Project manager Tim Simon says since transit became fare-free, ridership has gone up by over 40-percent and this project will make it even better.
“If we keep providing more frequent transit. Transit that is easy to use and is connected than we can do even better and we can really make Northwest Arkansas, get it ready, for all of the growth that is likely to happen here,” says Tim Simon, project manager.
Simon says they will analyze the survey this summer and display a plan in Fall 2019.
