The Fayetteville National Cemetery will be undergoing construction.
Due to a parking expansion, one of the projects will be a curb replacement. The loose concrete is becoming a safety hazard for visitors.
The cemetery will also be adding two additional parking spots. The construction was scheduled to start Monday, but it has been postponed until Tuesday because of the weather .
“It’s not going to impede any visitation to grave sites, and if anybody needs any assistance, we have out golf carts we can [use to] take families out to grave sites,” said Skipp Solomon, director at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
Solomon said that even though the gates will be closed during construction, that does not mean families are not welcome to visit their loved ones.
