Consumer Minute: Target Matching Competitors Prices, Twitter Allows More Characters

Target Will Now Match Its Online Prices With 29 Retailers

Target is taking aim at online competitors. Target will now match its online prices with 29 competing online retailers including Amazon, and Costco. That’s a big change for the retailer, which until now has only matched prices of items available at Target stores. The company is also extending the time period customers can get a price adjustment on a purchased item from 7 days to 14 days. Earlier this year, Target announced it would lower its free shipping threshold from $50 to $25.
Twitter Considers More Characters
Twitter may expand its 140 character limit. According to the tech news site Re/code, Twitter is developing a new product that will permit more expansive tweets. It’s also reportedly planning on redefining what it considers characters, so some things like user handles and links, don’t count against the character limit. The final version isn’t set, but some at Twitter are reportedly in favor of raising the limit by 10 or so characters.
