Crack Cocaine, Cocaine, Meth Found During Arrest of Five in Fayetteville

Five Fayetteville residents are arrested on multiple drug-related charges Tuesday, February 19, by the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force (JDDTF).

The JDDTF has been investigating the group of five over the past month for drug trafficking in the Fayetteville area.

Detectives conducted multiple controlled buys on Torrance Dejuan Farmer, 44, by using a confidential informant.  Farmer made all the buys according to JDDTF.  A search warrant was issued for Farmer’s home, 4500 block of W Sweetgum Lane.  When detectives arrived, Farmer ran upstairs, crawled through a second-floor window, jumped to a nearby tree and made his way to the ground — that’s where officers were waiting and arrested him.

The search at Farmer’s home yielded crack cocaine, cocaine, a digital scale, phone and $1,750 in cash.  The contraband was found in a Nike Air shoe in the laundry room, and the case was laying on the kitchen counter, according to the report.

Farmer was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and drug paraphernalia and fleeing.

Latoya Marhea Samuels, 38, who lives at the same location as Farmer, was under surveillance by JDDTF.  The report states she left the residence, detectives followed her to a nearby gas station where she was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance.  Samuels also has violated her parole.

According to the JDDTF, Scott J. Kendricks, 36, who lives at the 1300 block of E. Fairlane Street, was observed doing numerous drug buys over the course of mid-January through mid-February. Detectives observed Kendricks leave his home and caught up with him during a traffic stop where he was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance.

During the stop, Kendricks told authorities all he had at home were some baggies by the washing machine.  A search warrant was executed by the Emergency Response Team (ERT) on Kendricks’ home. The ERT found cocaine residue on a digital scale, next to the scale, two baggies of cocaine, four baggies of marijuana were found inside a beer can. In the garage, behind a car tire, was a loaded .22 Magnum pistol.

Kendricks was arrested for, in addition to the charge at the traffic stop, possession with purpose to deliver, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearm, and possession of a firearm by certain persons — he is also a parole violator.

A search warrant was issued by JDDTF for the residence of Casey Lamont Simon, 33, at 662 Taylor. At the home, detectives found nearly four grams of marijuana and two digital scales to weigh drugs.  The 4th JDDTF also have Simon selling drugs to a confidential informant on several occasions over the past month. Simon was arrested for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine and meth), possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia (scales).

Demarcus Montez Odems, 23, from the 2700 block of Valencia, was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance.  JDDTF states Odems sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant. Through a search warrant for Odems’ home, detectives found marijuana, a digital scale, and baggies.

All five were taken by Fayetteville police to the Washington County Detention Center. They are held on no bond and have court dates for Friday, February 22.
