News

Multiple crews are on scene of a large commercial fire in Elkins.

Around 9:00 a.m., Elkins Fire Crews were called to 1890 Stokenbury Road for a commercial fire.

According to Elkins City Hall, the business on fire is a welding business and former Elkins Fire Station.

During the blaze, Elkins City Hall was evacuated because emergency crews were worried that propane tanks inside the burning business would explode, according to Elkins City Hall.

Central EMS is also on the scene.

Elkins City Hall was evacuated but people have returned to the offices after a fire broke out next door.
