Cross Church Members Speak Out About Ronnie Floyd’s Leaving

Cross Church members said they are sad long-time Pastor Ronnie Floyd is leaving.

This comes after Pastor Floyd was elected as the new president and CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) in a 68-1 vote.

To fulfill his new role, Pastor Floyd will be moving to Nashville, Tennesee, where the SBC home office is located.

The Senior Pastor has served Cross Church for 33 years and is making his departure an emotional one.

“The church, even though they mourn the loss, and they are very very sad, they know what it is to accept it as well,” Cross Church Director of Communications Brian Dunaway, said. “There’s a lot of emotions, but all and all the church is very proud.”

Brian Dunaway said Pastor Floyd still has a few weeks to transition to his new role, but they will be looking for a replacement.
