Inventors and entrepreneurs showcased their companies and ideas at a free pop up event.

The event was held at the Sunrise Stage in Fayetteville.

It was a sneak preview for the Anchor Center, which will be converting the former Sears store at the Northwest Arkansas Mall into a multi-use space housing an innovation lab, office space, pop-up retail as well as an event venue.

“How do we change a mall to be instead of a retail environment, actually a business environment? And then so, that kind of snowballed into this business eco-system, and the Sears space is what really made it pop,” said Becca Shaddox, Anchor CEO.

Shaddox said the space will open in phases with the convention center being the first to open by this fall.

Office and pop up retail spaces will open in the summer of 2020.
