Daly Wins Insperity Invitational For First Title Since 2004

The Woodlands, Texas — Former Razorback John Daly won his first tournament on thePGA-sanctioned tournament since 2004. The win came at the tournament where Daly got his start on the Champions Tour in 2016 in The Woodlands, Texas.

Daly had the 36 hole lead after firing a 65 on Saturday. On Sunday Daly maintained the lead from the start with an eagle on his opening hole. He then fired birdies on 3, 7, 12, 13 and 15 mixing in a bogey on 5 before bogeying his final three holes to win the tournament by 1 stroke over Kenny Perry and Tommy Armour III.

Both Perry and Armour III struggled down the stretch as well helping Daly capture the title.

Daly’s last win came back in 2004 at the Buick Invitational helping him earn the Comeback Player of the Year on the PGA Tour.

Daly vaulted up the Schwab Cup on the Champions Tour 34 spots to number 8 winning $322,500 on Sunday.
