City leaders and veterans alike say this representation of respect for those in the Natural State who have laid their life on the line for our freedoms is an important reminder to everyone in our nation.
“My forefathers, your forefathers went off to support the right of right of democracy. This is a free country but it is only free as long as we have law and order,” said Veteran J.W. Smith.
KNWA was also able to speak to Rep. Steve Womack about this event.
“Basically just to say thank you to the men and women who have worn the uniform of our country and have been willing to defend her,” said Womack.
The event concluded with the planting of a tree to commemorate the 100th year of Veterans Day.
