ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA) — A Rogers Animal Control officer was bitten by a dog while on the job.
The officer was treated and released from Mercy Hospital as a safety precaution. The officer sustained a few small puncture wounds to a lower leg, according to a news release by Ben Cline, Rogers public information officer.
The officer had traveled to North 12th Street at around 10 a.m. Wednesday regarding a loose dog. He encountered the dog and was bitten, the news release states.
The officer returned to work Thursday morning, the news release states.
“The animal, a boxer mix, was collected by Rogers Animal Services and the owner chose to have the animal euthanized and tested,” Cline said.
