HOGEYE, Ark. (KNWA) — A West Fork man is accused of shooting a man in a drug deal gone bad.

Ian Bryce Moore, 23, was arrested Friday, a day after 43-year-old Christopher Ward arrived at Washington Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound, according to a police report.

Detective Wade Fortin with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office traveled to the hospital and spoke with Ward.

Ward told Fortin he was purchasing narcotics from Moore in the Hogeye area, off of Highway 265 South, according to the report.

“Christopher stated that Ian fired multiple rounds at him with one round striking him in the left leg above his ankle,” Fortin said in the report.

Ward’s statement was corroborated by witnesses, Fortin said.

“Witnesses stated that Ian had discharged a firearm from his vehicle multiple times,” Fortin said.

Moore was booked into the Washington County Detention’s Center on suspicion of first-degree battery and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
