Early Votes Cast as Fayetteville Special Election Approaches

News

Early voting is in full swing for Fayetteville’s special election.

Fayetteville residents are being asked to extend a one percent sales tax.

The revenue would fund 10 citywide projects, including a cultural arts corridor and improvements to the police department.

You can submit an early  ballot this week through Friday, April 6, and also on Monday, April 8 at the Washington County Clerk’s Office.

Two-hundred people cast an early ballot Tuesday.

County Clerk Jennifer Price said early voting is a great way to avoid long lines on election day.

“In 2016, the City of Fayetteville has a special election, and overall for early voting they did 1,900, so we’re hoping to match or to exceed that number,” Price said.

Election day is Tuesday, April 9 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 that evening.
