Eleven Foot Beast of Steel Adds to the Aesthetic of Bentonville

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) – A new art sculpture was unveiled in Bentonville today and it’s sure to turn some heads.

Introducing Sassy the Sasquatch.

She stands at 11 feet tall and is made out of steel and recycled bike chains.

The artist and creator of the piece said the idea for the big foot sculpture came from her childhood spent in the woods telling spooky stories with friends. It was also important to her that Sassy is made of recycled materials.

“I use a lot of recycled material in my art and I wanted to come up with some sort of animal or creature that I could use bike chains as fur. I thought oh, a sassy, a sasquatch. That would be perfect,” Artist Amanda Willshire said.

You can see Sassy for yourself at Park Springs Park in Bentonville.
