Elkins Officer, Former SRO Arrested for Forgery

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ark.– A police officer with the Elkins Police Department was arrested Monday on one count of forgery in the second degree.

48-year-old Cpl. James Todd was arrested October 1 in Washington County, but is being held in the Benton County Detention Center.

Chief Bill Rhodes with the Elkins Police Department says Washington County is handling the investigation.

Superintendent Jeremy Mangrum with the Elkins School District says Todd was a School Resource Officer until July 1, 2018.  He then accepted a different position with the police department.
