Employers’ Higher Standards for New Hires

Employers are raising the academic bar for new hires.

A new Harvard Business School study says the trend is actually costing companies.

Currently, there are 6.1 million job openings in the U.S., a near record number.

But, employers only seeking applicants with four year degrees causes higher salaries, longer vacancies and qualified applicants overlooked.

The study suggests companies customize application processes so all qualified applicants are considered.
