The Northwest Arkansas community is invited to an event honoring and remembering survivors and those who have been affected by Pancreatic Cancer on Sunday evening.

With November being Pancreatic Cancer awareness month, the Northwest Arkansas Affiliate of Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will host the Purplelight event.

The goal of this event is to bring awareness to the disease, which medical professionals say is one of the deadliest of all cancers.

“In 2018, an estimated 55,440 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the United States, and approximately 44,330 will die from the disease,” the news release states.

The event will be held at Orchards Park in Bentonville from 7-8 p.m. and registration opens at 6:30 p.m.
