The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office discovered three explosive devices while executing a search warrant Friday afternoon in the Flat Rock area.
Investigators secured the area quickly and contacted the Fort Smith Police Department’s Bomb Squad, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
“The explosives were disposed of on-sight by the Fort Smith Bomb Squad in a secure manner that presented no harm or danger to anyone in the area,” the news release states. “We would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to these professional men and women for the work they do, and for assisting our agency in protecting our community.”
Colton Bosnick, the owner of the residence, was arrested Thursday on complaints unrelated to the explosive devices.
“An investigation has begun into the explosives and we will update you with further information as it is available,” the news release states.
