SPRINGDALE, AR — The family of a woman found dead inside a Springdale home on Wednesday is desperate for answers.

Police found 28-year-old Emily Nash dead from a gunshot wound inside her apartment on West Bailey Avenue Wednesday morning, and her family says they suspect foul play.

Emily’s sister, Shannon, asked police to check on Emily on Wednesday after Emily stopped returning her calls and text messages.

Shannon says she was planning to move to Springdale to live with her sister and says she spoke to Emily on Tuesday while on her way to Northwest Arkansas.

But when Emily stopped responding, Shannon started to worry, because she says that is out of character for her sister.

“Nobody would know how this feels until it happens to them. That was the only sister I had. I was born and raised with her. She was my everything,” she said.

Shannon says Emily will be missed by not just her, but many nieces and nephews.

The family is urging anyone with any information to contact the Springdale Police Department at (479) 751-4542.

Investigators have not released much information about the case, but say they should receive autopsy results from the medical examiner’s office Friday.
