The Diamond Hogs are days away from returning to the mound and fan’s excitement is in full swing.
Razorback Baseball will open the 2019 season on Friday, February 15.
The hogs are fresh off a 48- win- season and their first national runner-up finish at the College World Series since 1979.
Hundreds of hog fans met the team at the Northwest Arkansas Mall, some even waited three hours to be the first in line.
Fans got to meet their favorite players like newcomer Conner Noland, all-time favorites like Dominic Fletcher, Casey Martin and Coach Dave Van Horn.
Players said fan day is like seeing members of their family, and fans said it’s like Christmas knowing the season is just around the corner and they get to meet some of the newest hogs.
“Connor Noland. We’re from Greenwood and he played football with my son so we’re really excited to watch him. I know he’s going to do great,” Razorback fan, Christy Harris said.
“My parents come to games a lot and they see these people. Whenever they see them around it’s always super, super friendly. So it means a bunch to know that maybe my parents aren’t there, but there’s a couple hundred fans behind me that are just concerned for my well being and care about me, so it means a lot,” said Razorback Infielder, Jack Kenley.
The Razorbacks will open the 2019 season against the Eastern Illinois Panthers at Baum-Walker Stadium.
