Fatal Shooting Suspect Pleads Not Guilty to Murder Charge

A Springdale man pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder in connection to a fatal shooting from December.

Anjel Antonio Torres is suspected of shooting Javier Nicolas-Rodriguez on Dec. 6 and was arrested Dec. 9 in Barstow, Calif.

Torres was extradited back to Arkansas on Dec. 26 and is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center with a $500,000 bond.

Torres faces 10 to 40 years or life in prison if convicted. 

His initial court date is set for March 26.
