FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — Words of gratitude were spoken at a Fayetteville church during a Thanksgiving event that featured food and fun.
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 901 W. Cleveland St., held its Thanksgiving Potluck and Games on Thursday.
The church invited local residents to participate in the event, which was described as a “communal sharing of thanks.”
Intern minister Ren Paso said the dinner was a way to make sure anyone who needed a place to go and a plate of food had one.
“We have folks who are new to town or folks who just don’t have any other thanksgiving meal and want community and want to be with other people on Thanksgiving,” Paso said.
Traditional thanksgiving dishes were served as well as vegan and gluten free options.
People who attended were also invited to stay and play games.
