Fayetteville Fire Department Receives New Training Facility

News

The Fayetteville Fire Department celebrated the opening of its new training facility Thursday.

There was a ribbon cutting earlier — with a tour of the new facility.

The $600,000 building is six-stories tall with more than 7,000 feet of training space.

The department says the firefighters are excited about the way the new facility will benefit the community.

“It means the world to us. It’s a dream come true. This is… we can practice firefighting in a safe environment and don’t have to practice firefighting in unpredictable real fires,” Fayetteville Fire Department Chief  David Dayringer,

The project was funded in part by FEMA and the city.
